Three more days until I deliver my selection of artworks for this exiting exhibition to the charming Matchbox' gallery on
Cuba St, Wellington. Exhibition opening 11th October :) Heres a sneaky peek of two... Sister - A Showcase of Inspiring Female Artists
11 October - 30 October. Work in progress - Watch this space for invitation and my selection of works for this exhibition. So much time has elapsed since my last blog.. Sorry guys and girls..
But alas, I now have a renewed passion and fresh inspiration from attending an exciting night course this term.. 'The Business of Art' - Tutored by the lovely Sandy Rodgers. I will now endeavor to make more regular updates on this web site and keep you up to date with my latest art works and the many exciting events and projects as they happen. At the moment Iam excitedly preparing for my second exhibition, a Collaborative at the fabulous 'Matchbox Studio' Gallery on Cubs St in Wellington - Tuesday 11th October till Sunday 30th October. I have lately been experimenting with my Face Paint on Acrylic canvases and locking in the result with a clear matt lacquer spray. See photo below: Have a beautiful day :) In addition to the five paintings shown below, these are also at the 'First Light' exhibition...11/3/2013 'Blue Moon' and 'Full Moon' are painted with coarse texture and finished with iridescent medium.. look amazing at night and can be sold as a pair. Kind of like twins as these were painted only days apart ;)
'Take time to smell the roses' is a very recent piece, featuring textures, metallics, iridescent and a thought provoking homage to one of my favourite sayings.. The opportunity arose to take a small selection of my paintings to a new gallery space First Light, in the beautiful Plimmerton village. A great little gallery that is managed by the architect and designer who works out of the space. I have chosen 8 works to start off with, some are very special pieces I will miss dearly if they do get re-homed, but I am needing new space at home to allow for the flow of new ideas and works...
The opening night will be Friday 8th November.. other pics to come... Thursday 31st October 2013 The festive spirit in the (usually) sunny seaside town of Seatoun, was not dampened by the gales and heavy rain outside on Halloween afternoon and early evening. With an amazing team around me, we created a fun and festive Halloween themed drop in face painting, special fx and body art studio at Sea Star Studio, Dundas St, Seatoun Two body paints were created in the morning by Nadine Clement and Sofia Bue Pederson (Multi award winning artist) and then the models were fabulous moving billboards to catch the eye of passers by and enticing them in to be painted :) The studio is well situated on the main drive into the town complete with floor to ceiling glass at the front and a bus stop just outside, reactions were priceless!! It was certainly entertaining for both sides of the glass :) We opened the doors to trick and treaters and interested punters for face painting from 12.00pm - 7.00pm. Definitely a busy time of year for a face painter! This year Halloween fell on the Thursday, which created two weekends of parties and lots of work in the week between too for all the Halloween festivities. <<<HALLOWEEN HUT>>> Setting up a drop in Face Painting/ Body Art studio this Halloween... |
